Wayne Hamilton

Last night, I watched my brave sister Bernadette Hamilton Melberger lose her battle to cancer. She peacefully slipped away surrounded by family and friends. We knew cancer would eventually win; we were hoping not this soon.

Bernie was my confidant, my friend, my fellow jokester. She filled a room with laughter and our lives with love. As a teacher she left a legacy of having touched thousands of students lives. More

importantly she leaves an amazing legacy in her three kids. Bernie: we will not grow old together but the journey we traveled will make me smile forever. I love and miss you.
